Hello neighbors!! On this page I`ll be posting county music (or music that influences country music) from my collection of 78`s LP`s and 45`s. Most of what I`ll have here will be from about 1900 up into the 1950`s or so. I`ll try to use stuff that is not currently available to buy. All artists I`ll be posting recorded before 1950, but some recordings may have been made later than 1950. I hope you all enjoy what I`ll be putting one here!!

Good Old Mountain Dew - Banjo Songs Of The Southern Mountains
I`ve not posted this type of old-time LP in a while now, so here`s a good `un! There`s some great old-time banjo stuff here. One neat thing about it... the last track is by Samantha Bumgarner. She was the first woman, along with her music partner Eva Davis, to make a country music record, way back in April 1924. Hope you like this one!

Nice album; I heard this many years ago and used to have a reel-to-reel dub (it was out of print even then), which has long since been lost. So, it seems, has much of the Riverside folk catalog of the 50s. Thanks for posting it!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I wonder what all else old-time related may be on these labels.
